Expo 2000

Hanover, Germany

Theater consultancy and concept design for two thematic pavillions Mobility and Future of Work at the Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany. Each pavillion had an area of about 3 000 m2.

dUCKS contributed to the concept development and designed extensive audio, video and lighting installations.

One of the highlights of the installations was a 70 meter long 'street' with a continuous projection area on both sides. The projection screen was at the same time mirror for indirect projection, and semi-transparent window to the sides of the street. Objects were placed behind the screen. This created a sur-real 3D transposition of multiple images: those from the projections on the screen with a secondary image on the surfaces behind it, and the objects themselves.
