De Portzamparc wins design for Arena ’92

14 February 2011

The team of architect Christian de Portzamparc and project developper Vinci has won the design competition for the new Arena ’92. The new stadium will become the home for Racing-Métro ’92, one of France’s up and coming rugby teams.

The stadium will be nested in a sports park just west of La Defense. It will be used for rugby and soccer, but also become a major facility for large-scale concerts and events.

dUCKS role in the competition included study of circulation, sightlines and seating implantation, development of concepts and designs of all rigging and staging facilities for concert and event uses, as well as infrastructure for performance audio, broadcast facilities (internal and external) and performance lighting.

The project will be presented to the public on March 1st.
