Opening “Le Fil” St Étienne

31 January 2008

St Étienne has a Scène de Musique Actuelle, or SMAC. The new space, designed for amplified music, has a capacity ranging from 400 seated to 1 200, including standing room.

The seating arrangement of the main performance space is variable using a retractable riser with 260 integrated seats. The overhead machinery consists of trolley beams and point hoists, from which trusses can be suspended for curtains, lighting, sound, video projection, effects, et cetera.

Le Fil also houses a large Lounge/Bar with a small stage, and room for 250 visitors. There are two rehearsal spaces for bands. All spaces connect to a large recording studio.

dUCKS designed all theater systems, including all stage elements and the overhead trolley and hoist system, and an extensive infrastructure for stage lighting and audio/video systems.
